Very well finished multi-layer shaving bowl. I have used a single ply designer mug before and it is much more useful and convenient. It's the right weight and size - it won't tip over with a shaving brush in it and the right size makes it perfect for holding and it's big enough that the lather doesn't overflow. It has a matte look and feel inside and out - not slippery in the hand and is easier to lather than polish on the inside. The 3-layer design retains heat better and keeps the mug cool on the outside so it doesn't get too hot. I highly recommend it.
