Review on PAC TATO JBL Amplifier Turn-On Interface for Toyota Vehicles - Black by Mike Shah

Worked on a 2003 4runner limited by jbl/rds. I'd deduct 2 stars, but that's not Pac Tatoe's fault (more on that later). But I removed 1 because of its size and cable clutter. There will be a mess behind the radio. Usually you have to press the main unit against it for it to fit. You'll also need a separate smaller module for the steering wheel controls, but that's not necessary if you don't mind the lack of steering wheel controls. MUST USE A BRAND RADIO WITH THIS. Every Pioneer works best with him. Haven't tried JCV or others. THIS WILL NOT WORK with Chinese copies or Android devices as you need an RCA output with a specific voltage and copies are usually not compatible. Sounds good, but you can't isolate each speaker from the wiring design. But you can isolate left/right front/back. It's not PAC TATOES fault, but I think the bypass would sound better and be a lot louder. Is Toyota JBL to blame for complicating things? However, the Pac Tatoe is an easy fix for aftermarket radios if you want to use factory amps. It sounds the same as with the factory radio (no better and no worse, it sounds exactly the same). If I had to do it all over again I would bypass it all by using two aftermarket amps. One for the door speaker and one for the rear factory subwoofer. Same amount of disappointment but it will sound better. Hope that helps
