Item appears normal and "tried" to work when connected. Unfortunately it does not work with XP 64. Pro and HP Laserjet 5P. Everything is fine with the printer, everything is fine with the computer. It was just an AMD 2+ 64 build from years ago that didn't run parallel ports. I've tried other cables that just lay there without even registering. So it was an "improvement" in that regard. I tried product support with Sabrent as stated on the sleeve that came with the cable. There were no "manuals" as it's supposed to be plug and play. The cable is only registered as a kind of unknown Print 2.0 device, not as a USB device. Tech support called back almost a week. When they did, the technology was clearly ESL and very difficult to understand, but we worked our way through cable testing. Unfortunately, his help was limited to working with the device manager, etc., which an experienced Windows user could not do. When we got it working on a Windows 10 laptop (which doesn't really need it) it announced that the cable was 'good' and that was the only help it could provide. No suggestions found, software or anything else to help AMD XP 64 or HP Laserjet 5p. We all know that HP and Microsoft have stopped supporting the XP and 5P laser printers. Your products are long and they will not help at all. It's sad that the hardware in both cases lasts so long and can become unusable due to administrative and "business" decisions. Connect the printer to any computer. It was an idea wasn't it? Yes, Sabrent offered to return the cable. Though it wasn't really an idea, was it?
