Review on Sun YOBA Controller Intelligent Regulator by Justin Butler

Voltage and amp hours I got from my PV array. I'm tired of having to hook up a multimeter to get this information. Setup was easy, just connect the battery and then the PV wires like my old controller. Unfortunately, after a few days, I came to the conclusion that this simple charge controller didn't work. The PV charge indicator simply never indicated that the battery was being charged even though the battery was being charged. (which is indicated by an increase in open circuit voltage on my multimeter). It also never logged the amp hours coming from my PV, although it's clear they were, otherwise my battery wouldn't charge. During the day, this charge controller went into an intermittent "grumpy face" display at random times, which should indicate some kind of malfunction. However, after carefully examining every connection in my system twice, and even re-stripping and reconnecting some of the wires "just in case", I couldn't find anything wrong. I never registered it on my multimeter either. Pressing the reset button always returned the charge controller to the "happy face" display, but the controller still never indicated that my battery was charging. nothing indicates what might happen. In the end I came to the conclusion that this charge controller just didn't work or wasn't very reliable. I ended up having to go back to my Renogy PMW controller. It works well, loads fun as ever, charges when it should, floats when it should, and cuts power when it should. Without error. Sorry Sun YOBA, I don't know how to give a better rating given my experience here.
