Poor performance, not even close to YETI

After watching many ice melting videos and reading many reviews I bought this cooler. I couldn't be more disappointed. We used this for a long drive (6 hours) and the food was all warm at the end. We have used several RTIC ice packs which should be better than real ice. This is our first soft pack cooler and I knew it wouldn't perform as well as my hard wall Yeti. But I was shocked that it couldn't keep the food cold for a long trip. The zipper was fully closed but to be honest we occasionally unzipped it during the ride to get food. In terms of workmanship, you immediately notice that it's not as good as the Yeti brand. Only the material is not the same. The interior padding looks nice and thick, and the lid has a nice 2β€³ thick padding that feels nice. The straps look solid, but we didn't test them much. The side material looks cheap. In terms of assembly, it looks second-rate. When you receive this, it looks like you bought a Yeti imitation. I wouldn't mind because I care about performance, not looks. But since the performance was so bad, I went for a cheap product with poor specs. My daughter has allergies and we often take most of the food with us to be on the safe side. For something like this, we figured a soft-walled cooler would allow us to carry enough for the trip. Fill with ice when we get to the hotel and we're done. Unfortunately we were wrong. When we got home I bought a replacement Yeti of the same size and it has served us well on many trips. Looks better and most importantly it works much better. All food stays frozen or very cold throughout the trip. So I tried to save a few bucks and decided it wasn't worth it. Either go cheap and get the regular soft side or spend the money on the real deal. These RTICs are in the middle but work like the ones below.

  • cool product
Cons
