It does what I need, but I'd happily spend the extra $8 for a quality device. He will do what he is asked to do but fight you in the process. The carving on the body and caps was clearly a single shot, having grown together by half or even earlier. I had to use a wrench to fully close both lids and repeat this at least 10 times so I could fully close them without a wrench the first time. It feels like a cheap tool in the hand but does what it's supposed to do. However, I expect this tool will break easily over time based on what I said above. I myself have bought a better quality vise that when it pops up can be fully tightened with just two fingers and has the look and feel of a quick tool that will last a lifetime
