So, I have a Dupuytren's contracture. So far it's easy, just a bit painful, but I'm really worried about the future. I bought one of those smaller finger splints that fit in the front of the hand and try to "push" the finger up. Didn't do me any good. Yes, it prevented me from bending my finger beyond normal rest, but it was about a 45 degree angle. Then I bought this splint and put it on the back of my hand to straighten my finger and it's MUCH BETTER. I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to bend the metal part the way I wanted. Actually, I was just concerned it wouldn't stay where I put it, but it was definitely strong enough to stay right where I put it. The first night I bent it a little more than straight to actually pull my finger back and try to stretch it. It worked great for this product but it was too much so I bent it back where it just kept my finger completely straight. I've only been wearing it for 4 or 5 nights but I can already feel a definite difference. I've worn it a few times during the day but I have to use my fingers too much and I feel like it only works that well at night.
