I know it's only 50mm but I was very picky about the specimen I bought (I bought and returned 2 other 50's) and I'm very happy with it. Why so specific? I wanted to choose the Nikkor over the Series-E because of the better build and image quality. I wanted this pancake-style version because of its low profile (one of my returns was a mislabeled stock 50 1.8). Well the real trick, I wanted the serial number to start with 2 instead of 4 because 2 were made for the Japanese and have slightly better quality control and a smaller min focus distance (1.5ft vs 2ft). . In the camera world, the Japanese are also known for being very careful with their gear, so I was happy to buy a used product. I have a dozen Nikon lenses but now this is my daily photo shooter. Image quality is crisp, focusing is well-damped and smooth for such a small tank lens and very low profile. For such a purchase, always choose a seller with good photos of the exact product you will receive.
