This blanket is literally a life saver. No, I wasn't stuck in a snowdrift, but my son felt safe in his car seat! Therefore, few people know that it is not safe for children to wear a winter jacket in a car seat. Winter jackets are lush and bulky. This will prevent the straps from jamming. One option is to remove the jacket, secure the child in the seat, and put the jacket on backwards over the seat belts. It might work for some, but my son always took his jacket off. always! Since we live in northern Minnesota and drive 2 hours a week, he needs something better. This little blanket is just great! I pocketed it when I started the car and when we got in the car it was nice and hot. Yes, it doesn't get "hot," just warm, but that makes it a great option for kids. Yes it turns off after 45 minutes but there is a button on the remote that resets the timer. One click and it works again. Heck, defrosting the rear window only takes about 15 minutes, and people don't complain about having to press that button too hard.
