Getting this fryer out of the box was more difficult than installing it ie just take it out of the box, remove the tape and plug in and you are good to go. I quickly washed the basket and let it dry by preheating it. I had some egg rolls and shrimp in the freezer so I cooked them and they came out crispy and delicious. I understand it takes some trial and error to figure out the right temperature and time for different items, but it's so easy to use that I don't see it as a problem. There are two dials, one for temperature, one for time, and all you have to do is figure out how long each dish takes to cook. The cookbook was pretty much useless, but there are a few fried recipes on the internet. If you want to try the air fryer this is a great place to start and the price is very reasonable. Also a good gift.
