I usually wait a few weeks before reviewing a skincare product, but it doesn't take long before I realize that this Gordon's Herbals Moisturizer is burning! I'm used to Retin A and have used all sorts of skin care products that warn of burning or irritation, but I've never used them. My skin is used to acids and such. The cream jar is liquid, the consistency is almost lotion or gel. I applied it to a clean face and the area around the eyes immediately began to pinch. My cheekbone area also felt irritated and burned. The rest of the face wasn't injured. The cream is very light and absorbs quickly. Doesn't hydrate much but does provide some moisture to my dry skin. But alas! I can't think of what could be causing the burning. I went through all the ingredients and nothing stood out as a potential irritant. It may just be my skin, but as I said, my skin is so used to acids, peels, retinol, and other potent substances that it comes as a shock that it can burn and redden. I gave three stars because it's light, absorbs quickly and has good ingredients. I don't know if I will use it again on my face. I will use it on my neck and décolleté. There is no pinching. Very strange.
