Review on 📻 Midland - LXT118, FRS Walkie Talkies - Extended Range Two Way Radios with Channel Scan, Hands-Free VOX, Pair Pack (Black) by Bryan Gilliam

Bought for camping use. Said it had an 18-mile range, but all we ever expected was 2 or 3 miles. I recently tested them on a trip. I tried calling from about 3 miles away. Nothing. There were a lot of trees, so I went to a clearing with fewer trees and called. Again nothing. So I walked less than 1/2 mile down from camp and gave it a try. I received a signal, but there was so much noise in the signal that I couldn't understand what was being said. In my opinion these things aren't even as good as smoke signals and pretty much useless. So we brought her back. Now I'm looking for something else. However, it appears that most FRS radios have a range that is only a small fraction of their advertised ranges.
