Great for multi-vehicle trips

We used it on a hike mainly for 2-vehicle communication while driving. Batteries never die. We changed them regularly so we never knew how long the battery would last. We had a little trouble detaching the belt clip to access the battery compartment when we first put them in, but they worked great after that. Definitely would buy more. They are very easy to use.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Something different

Exactly what I needed when making a film on a budget

When shooting a film on a tight budget, there is a lack of money for sophisticated communication equipment. I don't see how a more expensive walkie talkie can be any more useful than this one. I've already used them on set for communication between the car and the operator. Worked perfectly. The audio can be a little thin, but they're small and don't need Dolby Stereo to carry instructions. I will buy more of these.

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Problems

Inexpensive but worth it.

I bought them for solo cross country trips. We wanted something that could be used regularly, but not a cell phone. It worked. While not the best or the nicest, they served the function of facilitating communication. The reception distance was never tested as we were quite close. The battery life of 10 hours a day was perfect. I only had to change the batteries on each device twice in the 3 days we rode. Overall a good product.

Pros
  • Pretty package
Cons
  • Fragile

There is a decent one for Portable Audio & Video

All radios are not very good. Because they are all on the front of the box. They are ALL not the miles they speak of. Those miles are only when you're on a lake or body of water and there's no wind or waves and you can see the other man who has a walkie-talkie. I've tested many of them at distance and the best ones I have are only good for 0.5 or 1/2 mile to 1 mile, give or take a little. However, they can be useful in certain scenarios. If it weren't for the blatant lies and they were telling…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Low maintainability

Very clear, good radio. but definitely not 18 mile coverage.

So these cute little radios do the job perfectly. I was driving cross country (Oklahoma to Georgia) with another person en route. You have done a great job. They had great battery life and, unlike some other brands, were clear as a bell. The only thing that wasn't so nice is that they definitely don't get 18-mile coverage. At one point we got separated because one of our cars broke down and it was already stuck a mile between us. Otherwise they were great and I will definitely use them again.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models

Eats batteries in portable audio and video devices

These things are a piece of junk. New batteries barely last half a day. Channel search 18 miles away, blah blah blah, you don't have enough battery power to drive 18 miles. BTW that 18 mile range is only if you maintain line of sight, if there's any obstacles forget it, maybe a number you'll only use in salt marshes where at 18 miles it's actually flat. Instead of worrying about how long the range might be, they should have put some effort into extending the battery life. I was distracted. All…

Very short range radio

Bought for camping use. Said it had an 18-mile range, but all we ever expected was 2 or 3 miles. I recently tested them on a trip. I tried calling from about 3 miles away. Nothing. There were a lot of trees, so I went to a clearing with fewer trees and called. Again nothing. So I walked less than 1/2 mile down from camp and gave it a try. I received a signal, but there was so much noise in the signal that I couldn't understand what was being said. In my opinion these things aren't even as good…

Pros
  • 18 MILES AWAY - Long range communication in open areas with little or no obstructions
Cons
  • Some small items

Commercial Application

I work for a road construction company and it is important for me to be in constant contact with our maintenance technician. Using a large amount of signaller temp workers will result in a large loss of radio communication, so we chose a very reasonable "one time" price. I ordered 12 units and used them with our MOTs and alarm systems. 10 of the 12 ordered devices worked perfectly. However, 2 out of 12 failed within a month. Range tested to date is up to 2 miles in residential street conditions

Pros
  • KEYBOARD CONTROL - Keypad lock prevents accidental presses of function/mode keys. Key tones provide beeps each time a key is pressed for response or confirmation. Use silent mode to turn off all beeps.
Cons
  • Expensive

Ok, the kids liked it.

I bought these for use in Yosemite National Park. I bought four same day shipments of Revain Prime. Good price. They work, I would say, for about a mile in dense forest. After about a mile they started getting static which wasn't a big deal. I just used the radio to tell the kids in my group what to do and keep an eye on them. A radio stopped working on the 2nd day of use. The other person could hear me on the radio, but when they answered I just went static (and within sight of the other…
