Review on πŸ“» Midland - LXT118, FRS Walkie Talkies - Extended Range Two Way Radios with Channel Scan, Hands-Free VOX, Pair Pack (Black) by Ray Gist

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Ok, the kids liked it.

I bought these for use in Yosemite National Park. I bought four same day shipments of Revain Prime. Good price. They work, I would say, for about a mile in dense forest. After about a mile they started getting static which wasn't a big deal. I just used the radio to tell the kids in my group what to do and keep an eye on them. A radio stopped working on the 2nd day of use. The other person could hear me on the radio, but when they answered I just went static (and within sight of the other person). I don't know what's wrong with that, but I threw it away. The kids loved them and they were easy to use. They are more suitable for use in the park or at close range. Good for security. I wouldn't recommend it if you are more than a mile apart or rely heavily on walkie talkie communication. Cheap batteries last about two full days before dying. Also the clips are unusable and broke the 2nd time I changed the batteries. It doesn't matter if you have bags or a backpack as they are light and small. Just a little annoying. This would make a great gift for a 5-12 year old who loves the outdoors. The kids still mention this as the highlight of our trip.
