As a professional network engineer with over 25 years of experience, I find these devices to work very well in public or private settings. Once you know you need to download the latest version of the Unifi interface, they're very easy to set up and join a current or new network, and their auto-speed feature works quite well when connected to nearby devices. They are not designed for gaming or extremely high expectations of the WiFi environment, but work very well for small to medium-sized applications/environments.
