Perfect for connecting LiteTouch to SmartHome

Got this to connect my LiteTouch system to my network for access via HomeAssistant. Works great and saved me from having to replace the system with a $70,000 upgrade from Lutron.

worked for me best in Device Servers

The NETRS2321P model works as described, except it does not support baud rates up to 460 kbps. The maximum data rate supported by this device is 230 kbps.

Lots of room for improvement

You'd better learn to figure things out for yourself. The documents are minimally helpful. With my telescope I could never get it to work with the device in TCP mode. Fleeting semi-functional performance with messed up messages and lots of communication errors reported by the device. I switched to UDP and it worked great with my telescope mount right away. I used static IP addresses for everything.

Excellent hardware, good software.

They interacted properly with my CNC metal stamping equipment. It's nice to have at least one reliable device in the store. However, I have found that the "VCOM" software needs administrator rights on the computer to map this device as a COM port, and this should be the case. every time you log in. Even if the computer is not restarted every week or so, the driver starts to fail.

Works very well, software is crap but mostly works

I have to admit after initial concern and frustration the thing does exactly what it's supposed to do. Has been working for a week with no problems. I've given it a reserved DHCP address in the router, which never gets in the way of these things. You tend to get confused when the IP address changes and the StarTech support chat advises not to use the DHCP period, but that's stupid. There seems to be a lack of live chat support but they are trying. As I said, the software is total crap. It looks
