I bought another similar box that only connected SATA drives, it worked 1 time and when I switched drives it failed. I then bought this little gem and was so happy that it would not only work with my SATA drives, but also with my old drives that I salvaged from computers in the late 80's. As others have said, the cables are short, but I think the manufacturer intended this to be a drive recovery tool rather than a daily hot-swap of hard drives. It's better to use a hot-swappable case for that, which is more stable and secure, but if, like me, you just want to recover some old photos and files on an old drive that came from an outdated computer or a hard bookshelf, go for it Drive that had controller error is a great tool.
