I've been in TV/film/media for over 25 years so I'm approaching it from that perspective. Are these the best headlights? Absolutely not. But for $75+/- the quality and features you get are impressive. I bought two sets from two different sellers (due to stock availability and shipping times). I wanted to make sure the softboxes didn't have any big, dumb, meaningless, nameless giant Chinese logos/brands throwing themselves at you, so I guessed they were free of all that. I bought these for a friend who runs a small facebook/youtube ministry channel and I wanted to help him make the right move from a technical point of view. Having worked with these lights I would not hesitate to use them in my daily production life whenever I need them. I haven't measured the CRI so I can't speak specifically to that spec, but there was enough adjustment with the remote to find lighting that complemented the ambient (indirect) light from the window and kept the skin tone looking healthy. clean. The boxes do not come with mesh, so stray light can be an issue. Also, like all the cheap kits I've come across over the years, the diffusion fabric on the softbox is pretty lame. I would recommend adding a sheet of your favorite Lee or Roscoe diffusion fabric down the center of the larger fabric to further soften the blanket. All in all you can't ask for more for the money. I wouldn't trust this kit in a full ENG environment where you have to keep tweaking it and then pounding on it non-stop (most parts are plastic), but if you have modest production needs this is a pretty decent kit. start with.
