Edit: Updated after spending more time with the laptop. I ended up buying two of these. The first was for me, the second for my son who serves in the army. I can say that my power block works well and "pigtail" fits the block perfectly. I think this reviewer was unlucky and fell into disrepair. The RAM is soldered, so there are no upgrades. However, it's a low-power DDR4-4266 memory, so it's fast and also runs in dual-channel mode. 16GB should be enough for most people. The SSD is PCIe 3.0 x4, so relatively fast. HWinfo64 reports that this is also NVMe 1.3, which is not the latest specification. The SSD itself is made by SK Hynix and works quite well. Inside there are two M.2 slots. Slot 1 - NVMe/SATA. Second, only NVMe. Both slots are PCIe 3.0 as AMD Ryzen 5000 series only supports PCIe 3.0. If you're looking to upgrade your storage, don't waste your money on a Gen 4/PCIe 4.0 SSD unless you plan to move it to a faster computer later. As a second drive I recommend SK Hynix P31 Gold 1TB. I installed one in my son's Swift X and it works really well. WiFi is made by Mediatek. I had many problems with this card. It didn't connect to my wireless fios network (although it did connect to the guest network - get it). The card was very slow. I bought an Intel AX210 for my son's laptop and it fixed the problems. The speed and connectivity is much better with the Intel card. The laptop is somewhat lacking in ports, including Ethernet and an SD card slot. You may wish to purchase a USB docking station with these and additional USB ports. Now the graphics card. First of all, this is NOT a gaming laptop and it doesn't claim to be one. This is the low power version of the RTX 3050 Ti. If you are buying this based on gaming you will be disappointed. There are dedicated gaming laptops that do the job a lot better. That being said, this laptop is capable of playing lighter games and does it quite well. It will perform better than other thin and light graphics solutions like Nvidia MX450 or Intel Xe. Rather think about playing a game in a hotel after a day at work. The lower powered version has lower power than other RTX 3050 Ti running at higher power. The graphics card is designed to accelerate creative programs such as Photoshop and Premier. This laptop is primarily a worker. However, games will be significantly better than with integrated Radeon graphics or a comparable laptop with Intel Xe graphics. The screen is pretty good for its segment. The sound is ok. I would recommend headphones for the best sound. Keyboard backlight was another issue for me. The white backlight with gold keys can make it difficult to read when the backlight is on. I found the keyboard easier to read with the backlight turned off in a lighted room. The center right side of the keyboard was noticeably darker than the left side and right edge. This made the keyboard even more difficult to read and frankly drove me crazy. My son's laptop had no problems. Acer offered to do a warranty repair for me, but the technician at an Acer authorized repair shop told me to just send it back as the situation would be resolved much more quickly. I ended up trading it for a laptop that better suited my needs (IA testing and development). I bought another Acer as I still like that brand. I just needed something stronger and upgradeable. This is a great laptop for my son who has a lot more "normal" computing needs than I do. Overall it seems to be a solid laptop for the price. It's not trendy, but with a few extras for fun, it should do its job (business) well. Compared to other thin and light laptops I've had (Aspire 5 and Lenovo Ideapad 720S), this one outperforms them. If you have reasonable expectations, you should be very happy with your purchase.
