I chose these based on other reviews and they are spot on - they are very good stools. Beautiful and comfortable and strong. They handle my 250 pounds with no problem. solid wood. Nice neutral colors. Good value for money. The fabric is very similar to linen or linen and I will apply a stain removing coating to it. I'll report back if I encounter any problems with it. One assembly tip: hand-tighten the top screw (closest to the seat base) *first* when assembling the legs. I got the first stool wrong and it was long and crooked for my fingers when I used the allen wrench to tighten the screws. When I hand tightened the top screw first, tightening with an Allen wrench was much quicker, and then I used a flexible drill bit to tighten the bottom screw very quickly and easily. holes pierced. Don't send them back because of that - it only took a little effort to get the screws into the legs and there weren't any problems with splinters or anything like that.
