The product is to remove the brassy or yellow from silver hair. I have used the shampoo now for a month with no results.it did not remove the brassy/yellow from my hair.

Other shampoos for white hair burned my scalp- this does not! It’s gentle but does the job. There’s no hint of yellow in my hair!

After losing my hair to chemotherapy, I was surprised to see (after years of coloring my hair) that I had very salt and pepper natural hair. I started using Phytargetn Whitening Shampoo and after a few weeks, was delighted to see how bright and reflective my hair looked. It gently lightened up the dull salt and pepper and made it bright and beautiful. I will not return to coloring my hair because this product makes my natural hair look really stunning.

This is a really good shampoo to brighten grey hair but you must follow the directions! I use the product once a week. Nice, but not that much better than the cheap stuff one can buy at a number of places!

This was my second choice as my first was unavailable. It's fine just not quite as good. Much less expensive so I like that

I bought this because Jamie Lee Curtis--my hair muse!--reportedly uses it. It's true: I gives my silver hair a shine that it did not have. However, I do not like the bottle (it is difficult to open) and the liquid product is very thin. It pours too easily from the bottle, and because it is purple it shows up on the tub walls. Fortunately, it has not stained anything. I use it 2-3 times per week, which seems to be often enough.

I have two grey streaks (done, not my own) and this does add shine to them. But I don't recommend doing the streaks. Brittle maintenace issue not what I was going for.

I have a full head of gray hair. It should be silver (natural), but I was using inferior products until I bagan using phytargent shampoo. No instant results (at least 4-5 applications for results). Wow, what a difference. My yellows are gone after using this. You need only use a very small amount with great results. The product is somewhat expensive but well worth the price. Much better than other similar products on the market. Highly recommended.

This shampoo is thin, as it is a French import. I transferred some to a 3-oz. bottle with a pump. This makes it easier to use and there is no waste since the right amount is dispensed. I have read some users don't like the fragrance, but fragrance is a very personal choice. I found it earthy smelling and, in any case, the abundant lather rinses easily. A little will go a long way. Whether it 'whitens,' as claimed probably depends on the frequency and length of use. I really have no complaints

I don't have any real problem/complaint about this product. I don't think it's too thin or too hard to open, and it lathers enough for me; but I honestly can't tell it does anything so far as brightening or reducing the yellow in my light gray hair, certainly nothing above and beyond the purple shampoo I normally use that costs much, much less. This is a great product. Specially made for gray hair. I have been using it for years. Get lots of compliments. Be sure not to use it too often to avoid a blue-ish tint. I use it about once every 8 shampoos. alternate with a mild plain shampoo.

I use this shampoo all the time. It is a very saturated color. A little goes a long way. I have white hair and this keeps it white, no yellow. I would just caution to start out with a small amount , otherwise it might be too much color for you. It does brighten your hair along with cleaning itnicely. I have tried many other Shampoos for white,or gray/white hair and I always come back to this one.

I mistakenly purchased this purple shampoo thinking it was the brand my hairdresser recommended. After using it for around 6 months now, I haven't noticed any change in color. I have natural blonde hair and was looking to get rid of brassy tones; I don't know if the product works well for other reasons.

Good Shampoo for keeping silver hair whiter. Our water has minerals in it that tend to make my silver hair yellowish and this has helped.

It gets 1 star because it is a shampoo, so that part is not misleading.However, it comes out of the can the color of old, reddish brown motor oil and the consistency of water. Tinted my hair a yellow ash brown, which is pretty much what I'd expect from the color out of the bottle.
