Review on πŸ” Wireless Barcode Scanner with Cradle and USB Cable - Motorola Symbol LI4278 by Mark Cannon

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great bluetooth wireless barcode scanner

At first glance I thought this was a wireless only device as I couldn't find any information on whether it was compatible with tablets and phones. This assumption was wrong. It works in multiple modes, not just on a stand. So how? Well, that's why I still fight with both of them. There is a document for pairing the DS6808 that works with the li4278, but I would recommend the DS6808 as a 2D barcode scanner as the LI4278 is a 1D or simple barcode scanner. 2D barcodes include QR, Matrix, PDF417, Aztec and more. Battery life, including standby, is pretty good. several days on standby, even after a day of decent use. for inventory, not for sale. The docking station is pretty easy to use. It can be turned off by scanning the power off barcode, but it can only be turned back on when plugged into a charging dock connected to a powered on PC. disappointing. Pretty good for outdoor use, you may need to dodge the sun with your hand. Pairing is an issue, but when set up correctly it will ask for a PIN. The manual has 2 sections 0-9. only 1 works for a pen. Look at section EI. and the pen can change over time, which is also frustrating. Once I figure out the correct pattern and how to block the PIN number I will provide the information here. My pairing success is now about 1 out of 20 attempts. when he's two, it's great. Successfully paired with iPad, Android tablet and Google Pixel XL. Basically, it should work on any Bluetooth-enabled device. Update: Checked pairing with iPads. Scan the following barcodes from the manual in order: (PDF Page, Section/Page, Article) 108, 5-4, Factory (wait 5 seconds to load) 73, 4-5, Bluetooth Keyboard Emulation (HID Slave ) ) 100, 4-32, set and save PIN code 308, E-6, key 1308, E-6, key 2308, E-6, key 3308, E-6, key 4309, E-7, end message If You want the barcode followed by Enter124, 5-20, <DATA><SUFFIX 1> (01h), I hope there will be a website in the near future to help set up barcode scanners. . It was quite painful to find, but after that I checked the pairing with my iPad. Once it works as desired, use: 108, 5-4, Write to User Defaults, then Update Settings with 108, 5-4, Restore Defaults. Much luck!
