Why go out and buy a brand new cable when you can get one. Ceiling. Then I just said "The hell with everything" and bought a very long HDMI cable, which works great, by the way. Then I bought a Wacom Cintiq and wanted to use the HDMI port on my laptop for it. But the adapter I bought was stuck to the power cord and I didn't like it. I'd rather not wear out or break any of the ports. So I used it to add a short HDMI cable between laptop and adapter. Problem solved and I was also able to move the monitor slightly away from the laptop. It worked like a charm. Go on.
