This TV wall mount is easy to assemble and has many adjustments to support from 50-50 to VESA 200-200mm. I'm not sure about the 40 lb weight limit but it easily supports my 20 lb 32 inch TV. The wall mount is strong when mounted on a stand under drywall. But the connection of the frame with the wall mount is quite weak and cannot be tightened. So my TV can "shake" a little - but who touches the TV after it's on the wall. Finally, the screw that holds the tilt in place is poorly designed and cannot be tightened easily enough to hold the TV at a specific angle. You need more than just a long screwdriver (I had to use a 12" long screwdriver for my 32" TV) and I still couldn't tighten it. The screw needs a hex head design so you can attach a socket to tighten it. All in all, this TV mount works for me. She keeps the TV in the bedroom so he doesn't get much movement from touching the TV, so its free nature isn't that important. If I could get this TV mount in the main room I would look for something better but the price is right and it does the job.
