Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Heated Noova Neck Massager - Neck Pain Relief, Neck Relaxation & Therapy for Women & Men - Intelligent Neck Massage with Heat by Luciano Filpo

Good EMS neck block, no pads.

I had back surgery in 2010 and am living with pain. I have used several TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) machines that also do EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation). EMS uses small electrical pulses passed through electrodes placed on the skin to cause muscles to contract. It can help relax muscles and improve blood circulation, among other things. Many people use pads that need to be changed frequently, so it was interesting to see Noova with integrated electrodes. I couldn't wait to try it. The Noova iPRO20 neck massager comes in retail packaging consisting of the device, remote control, backup battery for the remote control (nice touch!), USB-C charging cable (approx. 1 meter), 4-wire cable for the back pad, 2 pads for the lower back/alternative area (referred to as the pads in the manual), a small "gift" spray bottle, and a manual. There is no suitcase/bag in the box, which should actually come with it. An assembly is not required. The USB-C connector has a small rubber plug that stays attached when open so you don't lose it. It took about 10 minutes to fully charge the device and about 40 minutes to recharge after use. After charging, the device is ready for use. The manual recommends a 5V/1A or 5V/2A wall charger (not included) and mine is 5V/2.4A. Using it is pretty simple: fill a spray bottle with clean water and spray it either on the electrodes on the device or on the back of your device. Neck (you can also wipe your neck with water), place the device on your neck and press and hold the power button for a few seconds to turn on the device - the electrodes (called connectors in the instructions) should be on lie on the skin. Pressing the mode button on the remote control starts the transmission of impulses through the device. Each mode starts with a low setting and you can increase or decrease the intensity of the pulses as well as heat the electrodes (up to 43ยฐC / 109ยฐF). The manual doesn't mention these modes, but one of them feels like little pricks, another feels like someone is patting your neck up and down, and the last one feels like someone is massaging your skin - the illusion that someone is massaging is fully manifested when using a massager. It is also very comfortable to wear. Using pads and neck massage at the same time doesn't really work. The block doesn't have enough power to really do both. Also, pads are not as effective and never have the same intensity as neck electrodes. While they can be effective for casual light use, that's not really the main focus of this device. Perhaps the company is developing alternative electrodes that are more akin to the device's built-in electrodes and offering them as an upgrade. The manual recommends using 15 minutes at a time. I tried to use the device longer, but soon after it needed to be charged. The intensity stayed the same when the battery died and it didn't take too long to charge. Since the electrode needs water to be effective, evaporation can be a problem over longer periods of use anyway. In general, this is a good device. Most EMS units have wires attached to the boxes to make them work. It's easy to use, compact, portable, discreet and efficient. It is quick to put on and take off and can be used while sitting in a chair or moving around, unlike most EMS devices. How a neck massager works and works well!
