Very well made from durable materials. At 6ft 2in as a passenger in the Cessna 150, space was priceless. This worked well for taking notes and viewing maps while searching with air telemetry. Adding 2 metal rings and a zip pocket designed to hold a similar sized 3 ring binder worked. Good for storing extra notes, pens and pencils. The wide strap was comfortable and secure on my large foot. He also holds a smaller foot well. The velcro pocket is handy for spare AA batteries for my portable GPS. Handy for a quick reference printed map. The pen holder barely fit my large Sharpie pen (about 7/16 inch/1 cm diameter). The raised center of the notepad clip provided a good place to clip my pen. The clip held my 5" x 8" notepad securely. A thick vinyl strap with Velcro came in handy for securing a folded note under my notepad. Two patches of barbed Velcro (the rough side of the "Velcro") on the bottom appear to be designed to stay neatly folded when not in use. My duck pants but shorts would be uncomfortable. A few pieces of Velcro or fabric attached to hook patches will alleviate this discomfort. I don't think velcro deserves a star. It's nice to stow away.
