I bought 2 packs to decorate my balcony. All of the skeletons glowed with a bright orange or purple light. Perfect for Halloween! 3 new AA batteries are required for operation. You can leave the light on or flash it. EDIT: 5 days later one of the batteries lit up and caught fire. I only used these lights for 3 hours the first night I received them (when I took my first photos for this review on Monday). Then I turned it on tonight (Friday) and within an hour it started sparking so I walked over then it caught fire and I quickly put it out before it became a big blaze. Now I'm SO disappointed because I only have task lights on half of my balcony because the other lights didn't come on, but I won't be using them for fear they might catch fire.
