Review on Enhanced Performance with Stainless Steel Shaft Collars Screw by James Crofton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very very good fit.

I wanted to use these rings on my new drill table to keep the rotating shaft (which raises or lowers the drill table) from moving. I made a drill table for my Delta 11 drill press -990. Unfortunately, the handle that lowers and raises the table didn't turn completely because the new table got in the way. Previous YouTube videos show how to move the handle to the front of the table. To do this you need to buy a shaft, hook gears to change the direction of the shaft and a clutch to keep the shaft from slipping back and forth. I ended up moving the handle to the right edge of the table and not forward. There seemed to be less resistance to turning the shaft this way, and for my purposes I didn't want the handle protruding from the front of the table. The kit includes 4 shaft clamps with set screws. I ended up using a yoke (this yoke is between the crank and the oak block) to attach another yoke in the oak block (the other yoke is in the oak block, 1/2" and 3/8" deep) . Hole). The yoke in the oak block acts as a sleeve to hold the 1/2" axle (the 1/2" axle is from Lowes and is actually 0.495" as measured with my digital calipers). The fit is perfect. and the axis rotates easily within this ring. So I used one of these snap rings as a snap ring and the other as a bushing to hold my 1/2" shaft. The rings appear to be well made. Very happy with the quality seen.
