I agree with others who point out that the design is cumbersome when deflating, which needs to be done about every 30 pages. It also helps to take it apart every year or so to clear the stray confetti from the gears and lubricate it. Also worth noting is the presence of a fuse under the top cover to protect the fragile circuit board. Ours finally gave up after a surge caused by a lightning strike. We replaced it with a larger machine that could handle more pages, sometimes staples, CDs, and credit cards. The downside is that the newer one is used just as often but takes up a lot more space.
