I bought this on a whim for my Switch Pro controller while looking for a replacement part for my joycons with the idea that I could make it a bit more high quality (I wanted to use Astro C40 TR with Switch but unfortunately it's not compatible). There is a bottom line. Decent on paper, but I don't expect it to be any more competitive or comfortable when gaming. Opening the controller is surprisingly easy. While there are twelve screws (two holding the controller buttons, four holding the battery cover, and six holding the two halves of the controller together), they were easy to undo, and you don't have to unplug any ribbon cables if you don't want to. Just open the controller like a book, unplug the old analog sticks and plug in the new ones. reverse steps; very easy. The problem lies in the small issues that complicate this setup. A previous reviewer recommended filing the tines on the rocker arms (the boxed stuff you put spare sticks on), which I did. I can't imagine them working without them as even post-record these replacements hardly work without making contact with the front half of the controller. I had to go in once or twice to file some more and then left the screws holding the controller together a bit loose. That in itself should be a deal breaker, but as long as the controller doesn't creak or wobble, I'm fine with that. Once the screws are tight, turn them counterclockwise one full turn to avoid binding. But now everything is ready. e. It's neat, sure, but it's not exactly a game changer. The metal rods are shiny and make a nice sound when they reach the end of their range of motion, and the silicone texture is acceptable. The excess is not cut off exactly, so a small part of it is left on some sticks, but this probably does not matter much. The ability to switch sticks on the fly with a magnetic snap sounds amazing, but the sticks that come with it aren't great. radically different. Standards are comfortable and double rooms are exactly the same but double the price. They're a bit uncomfortable for my big toes but might be useful for someone more acclimatized. I don't understand why domed sticks are more than a novelty - the shape, combined with its silky smooth texture, means your thumbs can hold a butterstick better. So that's how. Some shiny analog sticks are cumbersome to fit comfortably and are of little use if you don't plan to regularly adjust their height. You might like it, then it's perfect! But for me it's more of a parlor trick and a way to make my controller stand out in a sea of controllers when I'm visiting friends.
