I bought this rack because it allows me to extend the racks for wider glasses. A lot of the metal shelves I saw had reviews that said wider wine glasses wouldn't fit and since we have several tall wine glasses I wanted to be able to place the shelves wide enough for 3 wine glasses. there were not many problems with the installation, although it took some time to find the ideal distance. I may have overdone it a bit, because at 3.25" inside (about 6" rim to rim), the wine glasses sit a bit precariously (they're fine unless they get a side kick, in which case they might they fall out) ). racks). I don't blame the manufacturer for this because I spaced the posts apart, but I would recommend simulating the setup before screwing it in. an odd placement if you're hoping to drive screws into the edges of cabinets (which often have an edge that makes installation difficult).
