I bought two of these and have been very happy with them for over a year. One was used exclusively for the Surface Pro 3 and the other for the Kindle Fire. Unfortunately, behind the mounting jaws (which hold the tablet) is a small piece of plastic, this is the only connection point of the block head and hinge arm. On both of my stands, that little piece of plastic was the weak link (literally!); this piece of plastic broke after a little over a year and a half of operation on both stands. Make this thing out of metal and this coaster will be five stars all day and last ten years instead of one and a half to two years. If you buy this stand, keep in mind that this little piece of plastic will fail sooner or later. Too bad. Could have been a great product if it wasn't for this design flaw.
