Have a 2011 MBP 15. Upgraded to SSD a few years ago and was working great. The original battery swelled up and I got a replacement on Ebay. For some reason, the computer just was running super slow. I tried many things, even completely wiping the hard drive. Someone suggested that maybe there's something incompatible with the battery because MacOS just shows that kernel_task is always taking up 100% of CPU. Was about to recycle this, but gave the battery one last shot and long and behold, this machine is running like new! If you're looking to replace a battery on a 2011 Macbook Pro 15, this one works perfectly!
