So this car phone holder is a good idea. It grabs the edge of the dashboard above the dash. Not all cars have that, but mine does. The grip is very good and very stable. However, the design of the mount is such that the phone will vibrate slightly while driving, especially when the phone is held upright. However, I could probably endure it. I prefer to hold on tightly than with a car vent magnet as this mount positions the phone closer to me than to the side like a vent magnet would.
