I have an old Nikon D3 and there is no wireless transmission with my compact flash. I bought it with a lot of hesitation because some reviews said it wouldn't work. Well this thing works really well and is probably one of the best photo purchases I've ever made. It only costs $23 and has made my life much easier to translate. When I'm traveling I sometimes skip the lightroom and do a live broadcast to see how the image looks when zoomed in. It's very fast. I also have a newer Nikon camera that supports wireless transmission. Native wireless transmission is very slow. It's lightning fast and now I don't even use WiFi anymore. It is transmitted as a raw file and without compression. I am very happy with this purchase. All other workarounds - modem, wireless adapter and all other methods - are troublesome and expensive. This is the best solution so far.
