This mat is slightly more expensive than many other toilet mats, but it's definitely worth the price because it's the last mat you buy. No other mat I've tried even comes close to a black hole in terms of debris capture! It's also super easy to clean, as you can just dump any stuck dirt back into the box (or in the trash if you prefer). Also, for some reason, my cats have always scratched and torn other carpets, no matter the material or texture, but not this one. Having small perforated holes in the top layer kept my cats from scratching the black hole rug. The rug comes in 2 sizes, I bought this smaller size (23" x 21") and it worked great. However, if you have a cat that likes to stray far outside the crate, consider the larger size (30" x 23"), which is also available on Amazon in a separate listing. I tuck the top edge under the cat litter to keep it in place on the tile floor, the mat itself is lightweight and doesn't have a particularly "non-slip" backing. On carpet or textured surfaces, this probably won't be a problem. I am thrilled to have found this rug!
