Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Thrustmaster Sparco Rally Wheel Add-On R 383 MOD: Enhanced Racing Experience for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, One, and PC by Brant Skogen

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A replica in the ratio 1:1 and belonging to the brand are indicated in the price tag.

Pros: Easy to change (like any wheel) 1:1 gear ratio Replica of a real Sparco R383 wheel Paddles feel better (further to the base and nice and crisp) than a t300rs gt wheel. Very grippy feel when using gloves, both GT and Rally/Cross. Cons: The button layout may be similar to what some are used to, but I MUCH prefer the stock t300rs GT handlebar layout as it was intuitive and you couldn't go wrong. I use this steering wheel a lot and still can't get used to the button layout and trying to find one of the 'quick' buttons seems like a chore unless you keep your fingers on it while driving. Both my friends and I have to dig around with our thumbs to find the buttons. Choosing the joystick over the dpad was a mistake with the one they chose here. The joystick is too loose in the sense that when trying to push up or down, it often signals "left" or "right" with it (and precise use of the joystick when turning the wheel is not possible at all ). This means that if you're just trying to scroll up and down menus in the car's settings, you'll accidentally screw up a few settings a bit and have to do it very slowly and precisely. The suede felt harsh but as people say the ink comes off. and gets his hands dirty. Unfortunately, for this reason I always use gloves, because otherwise the suede feels pleasant. Although it might be a bit "too" grippy, because in things like rallycross it was easier to slide the handlebars over a smooth surface than with a glove or suede. Other Thoughts: Maybe people don't like the gamified button layout. Console controller, but in the case of this particular steering wheel, it's a hell of a lot better than that. I use a VR headset for sim racing, so a quick look at the buttons isn't an option, but this layout definitely feels pretty awkward to get around to try and use effectively nonetheless. All in all, ignoring the brand, I don't think it's actually worth $200, the cheaper 13" 1:1 wheel is a better option. My only justification for my purchase is that I also use the TSM Sparco Handbrake Mod (which I believe is a 100% fantastic 5 star device) and wanted to customize it a bit which it did perfectly. tl ; DR Not worth $200 when other 33cc 1:1 wheels are cheaper. The brand name is more the reason for the cost than the quality even leaving ink on your hands and the joystick is bad to use and unfortunately they didn't include a dpad for even more buttons. Highlights the TSM Sparco Handbrake Mod well if you have one.

  • Brings joy
Cons
  • The list will be long.
