I've replaced most of the incandescent bulbs in my house with retrofit FEIT bulbs like these. They produce more light than the 100W bulbs they replaced, while using less power and much less heat. Replacing lamps is a very simple task -1. When turning off, remove the existing lightbulb2. Pull the light down by the trim ring and squeeze the struts to remove, 3. Screw in the modified adapter where the bulb was, connect the wires to the plastic connector if you haven't already , and 4. replace the bracket into the shell can shine. To insert the light, hook one leg of both springs into the slot in the light body, then pinch the other leg and hook into the slot. Slide it in place and you're done. These FEIT mods have slightly different performance than the originals I bought 6 years ago and I can see a slight difference in brightness. But not enough to replace the rest of the room. I doubt anyone else will notice. By the way, I'm replacing this one because it had trouble starting. Sometimes I had to turn the light off and on again to make it glow. Apparently an unusual problem with the circuit. The others I have at home have been impeccable and I would highly recommend them.
