We mainly cook Indian, which means that if the dishes are not washed properly, odors can linger. I only use a natural and non-toxic product so I can't compare any of the cascade brands etc. I can tell you among the methods, 7th generation, Eco-liquid, brand 365 - I've tried all of these brands and for our type of food and dishwasher and water (Texas hard water with household softener) this dish soap stands out! I also tried their citrus flavored tabs and found the dishes really clean. So this time at a better price - I bought 8 packs of the powder. I only put half of the dish soap in the container and some hydrogen peroxide in the rinse aid. We wash dishes in the car every day. With other brands I had to use the 'hard' and 'rinse' settings before, but I use the 'normal' / 'eco' mode. My son, who is very sensitive to smells, notices that cutlery eats his morning muesli and now even helps me to empty the dishwasher, as it is actually nice and above all clean. Thanks for a great product and don't change the recipe! Update 04/01/2020 I bought a pack of 8 in May 2018 and now at the beginning of 2020 I have 7.5 boxes ready with half a box left, I think that's enough. 3 months left I run the dishwasher once a day, every day with 2 tablespoons for each load. I no longer use hydrogen peroxide and occasionally pour vinegar into my conditioner. I don't use plastic, mainly glass, cups, crockery and cutlery.
