I hesitated for a long time to buy this product just because of the price. I used an old paint bar that worked, but I was always afraid it would break with use. It was probably only a matter of time before this happened. This pole is much better than the artist pole and worth the price. I'm a home inspector and I use it a lot when trying to take photos in dangerous and difficult situations. I have a lot more peace of mind when I end up fully occupied with an expensive camera. I can fully extend it with the camera and hold it completely horizontal without breaking or kinking it. You are using Nikon Cool Pix W300. It didn't come with an adapter for my camera, but it was easy to get one. In hindsight, the price is actually very reasonable given the confidence I have in using it. I'm glad I didn't wait for the second pole to break.
