I have a non-flashed PSP running version 5.51 of the operating system. As a player, not the most portable thing, as I recently calculated that the cost of six licensed games would exceed that of the cheapest copy of the system. However, watching a movie is simple. I figured that if I got a camera for her, we could just have Skype video chats. Sod off. The PSP's original service, Go! messenger, allowed for video calls, and these cameras were made for that purpose. Change to skype, then. Taking pictures and recording video is currently the only thing the PSP can do (although, it's far more convenient on a mobile phone). There wasn't enough RAM for the built-in browser to load the LiveJournal website (to show text with pictures? - chuckle). Even the curvature of the flash is hidden. What more can we possibly say about videos and YouTube in particular? This is better accomplished via a conventional cell phone. It turned out that internet radio was a myth; it hissed while searching in vain for a 1970s radio station on Shoutcast. RSS just allows you to pick from the options they present. Including a blog in the feed, for instance, will not function. The games themselves are the main event. The charge is plenty for the eyes and it plays without a hitch. But video games can never satisfy me. I recommend it for use with firmware versions 5.03 and before.
