NOT 1000 lumens minus four stars because most people buy based on lumens

Let's get the negatives out of the way first: This light is definitely not _anywhere_ close to 1000 lumens (it looks about as bright as 200 lumens) the flashlights I have don't even come close to my good 1000 lumen flashlight) and no, you won't see any usable illumination at 600 feet. Having said that, I have to say that at this price I still didn't expect it to be 1,000 lumens; Anything that comes out of East Asia that claims to be over 1000 lumens and sells for less than $50 has nothing to do with 1000 lumens. I will say that although I had low expectations, it emits even less light than I hoped, even considering the price. As the light output is advertised crudely (deceptively) I can only give this one star as many people will buy this item based on the light output alone. If they advertised the lumens correctly I would give it a full score as the light really suits my immediate needs (night skating). I wouldn't use the built in USB charger either. Without exception, these are weak points in these cheap lanterns. If you want it to fail quickly, use the built-in charger. If you want to keep it going, use an external charger. I will not test and trust the built in charger in this product. I am testing battery capacity in a balance charger and will update this review after completing 3 discharge/charge cycles and accurately measuring battery capacity. I expect less than 1000 mAh, as is common with cheap electronics from China. Now that the minus has been eliminated: the light has a good pattern to work in a dark place and it is enough. for jogging, skating or even moderate speed cycling. The light offers multiple flash modes: 1. Fast flash2. SOS3 strobe example. Locating flash (flashes approximately every 3.5 seconds). The light always shines at full (laughs!) brightness (so not bright at all), but allows for six levels of brightness; Simply hold the button down for more than 1/3 second and it will cycle through the dimmer brightness levels and then start up again at full brightness. 20 degrees) and a broader flow of about 70 degrees and a darker outer flow pattern around a light cone of about 105 degrees. most of the prize is gone; the quality is NOT due to the LEDs and certainly not the battery), helmet clips (amazing - I doubt they will work with my roller derby helmet) and instruction manual. The manual says this light uses two XP-G2 LEDs so of course I went to the Cree website and looked for the specs. Lo and behold, the maximum brightness of this LED is well below 200 lumens. Two of them are understated to avoid overheating and provide decent battery life. will probably total around 200 lumens, so my first paragraph estimating the brightness was exactly - er, pun intended. :) I will update this review after I complete the battery capacity test but will not deduct stars as I have already rated this light a 1 based on the 1000 lumen lie. At full brightness, the brightest XP-G2 LED option is 180 lumens when cold, two of which with 100% reflector and lens theoretically max out at 360 lumens for both LEDs at maximum current combined. when cool (<25C). If I could give this light a negative star for the ridiculous 1000 lumen claim, I would. battery capacity upgrade; I have a pleasant surprise for you: cell 18650 was not stingy; Unlike most cheap Chinese devices that come with 18650 cells, this doesn't look like a repackaged cell. The capacity turned out to be 2457mAh! That's surprising, since most devices cut corners to keep the price down. However, given the false advertising (see: false claims of 1000 lumens and ranges of 600ft) this does not return stars as most will use the 1000 lumen claim as a reason to buy.
