I really liked the colors and design of this shoe. Unfortunately, when I opened the box, I noticed that there was already dirt on the floors and a little abrasion on the tread. Wrinkles were also visible in the midsole, indicating someone had worn these shoes long enough for their body weight to hit the rubber. Normally I would have sent something like this back, but I was desperate. My old sneakers literally fell apart and I needed the shoes for work the next day so I left the "new" Rykas. I'm not sure if they will hold up (the language is definitely very thin and narrow), but I'll update them if necessary. etc. I would never trust them to hike or even run long distances. After 2 weeks I started getting foot pain on both front feet. Unfortunately, my previous concerns about the tongue of the shoe were correct. I tried adding a gusset to increase the support of the shoe but the tongue is so narrow you can see my sock on either side of the tongue. Every time I put my sneakers on, I have to manually smooth the edges of the tongues because they're so thin. If you are looking for sneakers that you only wear occasionally and do no more than walk around the house, then this shoe could be for you. They look really cute but that's where it ends for me. I hate to take a star off my original rating but I also try to be as honest as possible about the quality of these shoes.
