This product is amazing! You can use it when closed like a straight magic wand in hand to shake off cars, divert traffic around an emergency or a stalled car, or stretch your arms out in an arrow shape. The magnet on the base firmly holds the flare to the left or right of the vehicle, indicating the direction of travel to avoid a collision. Three different light patterns (1st constant, 2nd constant, 3rd downward staff with double flash on the arrowhead) offer good options for different situations. I bought 4 of these LED flashlights, 1 for each of our cars. 2 AAA batteries are easily accessible under the cover on the side of the handle, with a finger lock (no screwdriver required), and they provide enough power to light up and are highly visible day or night. The batteries will inevitably run out so I put the wand in a plastic travel emergency box along with 6 LED lights I bought and included a box with extra batteries. The torch is stored in its own snap-top plastic case for safety. This is a great product and I would buy it again (maybe two per car).
