Wow! What an unexpected difference from the 1.2 GPM aerator that came with my new Kohler Rubicon faucet. We loved how our new faucets looked but hated how loud they were. It was like a cheap noise machine or a poorly sampled recording of Niagara Falls. The faucets we replaced were 20 years old and ran whisper-quiet compared to new ones, which I think was due to the now-standard low-flow aerator. Another problem is that our main bathroom is as far from the water heater as our house can get. Even with older high-flow faucets, we had to wait over 90 seconds for hot water to come to us. For low-flow faucets, I calculated a time of 3.5 minutes. Summer! I didn't have high expectations when I ordered this American Standard 1.5 gpm aerator. Didn't know if it would fit Kohler faucets, and even if it did, what's the difference in 0.3 GPM? It turns out a lot! We're still saving water, but the faucet noise has reduced by at least half, and the water flow has increased significantly, so we don't have to wait so long for hot water. Now I'm buying three more for our other new faucets! I just wish there was a way to buy without a key as I don't really need one for every faucet. Nevertheless, I am a very satisfied customer!
