I wanted a system that would allow me to use my own bags (so I could use recycled or compostable ones) and with that feature seemed like the best option. I've been using it for about a week now. I have 2 cats and it will probably take up to 2 weeks to fill the bags provided so I will be using fewer bags than I used to and will be going to the litter less too! The block is made of durable plastic, except for the pocket clips on the inner bucket, which are a bit thinner. I would imagine they might break with prolonged use, but there are still rubber bag holders on opposite sides. However, if the bucket is opened empty (or almost empty), the entire system tips over under the weight of the hinged lid. Until you save it for a day or two, it must be placed against a wall or kept open, making it difficult to use with a shovel. It also tips over when you lift the inner bucket to empty, which can result in debris flying all over the place. I also want the outer container to be stainless steel so not only does it stand upright when there's no wall around, but it's also more resistant to odors. So far, however, it seems to hold in smell pretty well when closed handle up - and the deodorant pocket is a nice feature - so it gets the job done. The seal also creates some condensation on the inside, so it has to be wiped out from time to time because it cannot dry out properly. The price seems a bit steep for what it is and considering the design isn't perfect, but at least it won't have the cost and hassle of topping out certain parts.
