The fact that it is free makes this software so useful for all of us students who are not rich enough to buy expensive computers with powerful processors.

I have used LaTeX to write my thesis papers, but sometimes you need to make some changes to what you've written or add new sections in order to fit your needs. With this program there's no problem because we can change everything about our document without having to pay someone else to do it. It has helped me tremendously when writing documents for school assignments.
