This backpack is an excellent choice for a day hike. It has the perfect size and multiple compartments to store all my essentials for the entire day. The material is sturdy, yet lightweight. The adjustable straps and padded back make it COMFORTABLE to wear for extended periods .The backpack also doubles as a luggage bag which is an added bonus. The only downside is that it is not waterproof, so be sure to bring a rain cover in case of inclement weather..
