These coasters are quite pretty, a little whitish with golden tinges. I like that they can be folded and held. They are light and unbreakable, which I really like. I spent five dollars on a tile coaster and the first time it hit the floor it broke. They fell down many times and everything is fine. They fell on the floor because they don't absorb moisture very well and stick to the bottom of the glass with a lot of sweat and condensation. I tried to show the water ring but my photography skills are lousy, sorry. If your drink sweats heavily, the water simply collects in a ring on the stand. Then when you pick up a drink, the coaster sticks to it until you're halfway to your mouth, at which point the coaster falls off. They only do it with a lot of condensate, most drinks are fine. They protect enough that even if your drink sweats in buckets, none of that liquid spills onto the furniture below.
