It's fun, a little silly. Here are some tips for beginners.

It's definitely harder than it looks and you'll look stupid when you start. (You'll look stupid even if you get a little smarter). My neighbors stare at me when they see me using it, but it's a fun and easy upper body exercise. I'm no expert, but here's a tip: start by gently throwing the ball down at a 45-degree angle. the lightest/softest ball. It hits the ankles easier than the other two, but it's also the fastest ball. Red is the heaviest and slowest and doesn't hit the ankles too hard (I found the tennis ball to hit the ankles hardest) . I'd recommend starting with this (but not hitting hard) just to get a feel for it, and then progressing to a lighter black.
